While listening to Louise Derman-Sparks speaking in the Multimedia Program, she mentioned she loved working with children. She always wanted to be a teacher and when she received the opportunity to teach, she was asked to educate in a school that contained mostly low-income students. I really admired her strength, kindness, and care for teaching low-income students. She had a passion for working with African American, Latino, Asian American and other minority students. "They were a joy to her and she loved her job because they were grateful and eager to learn."
